My Story

Why did you choose to run for re-election?

Point Comfort is my home. This is where friends and neighbors are like family.  I have served three terms and want to continue to be the voice of all the residents in our small yet big city.   During my time on the Council I have been an advocate for the needs of our residents. I have been committed to ensuring that the city provides what is needed. I have been critical of wasteful spending, and supportive of identifying revenue options.   We deserve to have top quality services without reaching into people’s pockets. My duty as a member of Point Comfort City Council remains the same; ask questions, verify the answers, and vote for what is in the best interest of the residents and businesses in the City of Point Comfort.

What is your platform?

The most important responsibility as a city council member is holding people responsible while providing checks and balances within our government. My position has always been to do what is right for you and the City of Point Comfort.  My voice has always been the loudest when fighting to protect and improve our city. If given the opportunity to continue serving you, I will stand by my commitment to vote based on the merits of the issue. I will work diligently alongside my fellow city council members to sort through all the information to reach a conclusion that puts each of you and Point Comfort first.

Main goal you would like to accomplish?

Controversial

I have three goals that I feel are of equal importance

  • 1) Citizen Involvement and Public Outreach - Engage with residents and community Partners

  • 2) City Land and Facilities – Maintain and Improve all city owned properties

  • 3) Government Efficiency Transparency and Accountability – Maximize the use of each tax dollar and optimize services

What do you see as the city’s biggest problem and what solutions do you have?

We need to bring back collaboration, honesty, integrity, and above all real transparency to our city government. We can only do that by working together to represent the people as a whole. I plan to work with our officials to help relieve the stress and pressures placed upon the taxpayers.

What is the city’s best asset and how can it be better utilized?

Our city’s best asset is our community’s character and quality of life for our citizens.  We could improve on this by investing in our neighborhoods and park improvements. I’d like to see us implement community beautification strategies around the city.  I’d also like to provide monthly recreational activities to engage with the citizens in our community. Point Comfort has a lot to offer and we should expand on the opportunities going forward.

Why should people vote for you?

Again, Point Comfort is my home.  I love my community.  Above all I am always available to help a resident in need. Constituent services are my absolute favorite part of this job. Having the ability to make the difference in the life of a resident or business owner is one of the driving forces in seeking re-election. I pride myself on responding to anyone who reaches out with an issue and treating them just as I would want to be treated.  If I don’t have the answer I’ll look into it until I get it.  I want us as a community to keep moving forward.   I’m asking for your vote to continue serving you and all of Point Comfort.
